The Open Space Workshop Series 2010

Mike Mahon
New Mexico artists Michelle Chrisman and Mike Mahon will conduct workshops and a paint-along and critique the weekend of October 23-24. The workshops will be held in conjunction with the Little Gems juried art exhibit and the invitational Open Space: A View with Room art exhibition.
The workshops will include discussion of composition, value and color. Attendees are welcome to work in various media, including oil paint, acrylics, pastels and watercolors.
Both workshops will be held simultaneously at separate locations on Saturday, October 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a break for lunch. Michelle will hold her workshop at Los Poblanos Fields (aka Anderson Fields) Open Space in Albuquerque's North Valley. Mike will hold his workshop at either Elena Gallegos Open Space or Bear Canyon Open Space in the Sandia foothills of Albuquerque.
On Sunday, October 24, both Michelle and Mike will conduct a joint paint-along and critique from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Elena Gallegos Open Space. During the morning, enrollees may paint along with them or they may watch the artists paint. This will not be a formal demonstration and the instructors will not be answering questions as they would in a formal demo. In the afternoon. Michelle and Mike will conduct a critique of the paintings executed by the enrollees during the morning. Paintings done at other times will not be eligible for the critique.
Workshop Details
People may register for both days or for only one day, either the workshop or the paint along.
- Saturday October 23 workshop. 9 am - 4 pm
- Sunday October 24 paint along and critique. 9 am - 4 pm
- Tuition for workshop only: $100
- Paint along and critique tuition only: $50
- Tuition for both workshop and paint along/critique: $125
Michelle Chrisman:
- A minimum of 2 students and maximum of 17.
- Location: Los Poblanos Fields (aka Anderson Fields) Open Space.
Mike Mahon:
- A minimum of 8 students and maximum 20.
- Location will be announced later, but will be either Elena Gallegos or Bear Canyon
- Rain date for Mike: October 30 and 31.
Cancellation Policy
- Full refund if cancelled up to one month prior to the workshop date.
- Full refund if cancelled less than one month prior to the workshop date, only if the spot can be filled by someone on the waiting list.
- Full refund if the workshop is cancelled by PAPNM or by the instructor.
- 50% of tuition will be retained if cancellation is received 2 – 4 weeks before the workshop date, whether or not the spot can be filled.
